What are the Benefits of Bodywork?
There are countless benefits to receiving regular bodywork ranging from lowering your blood pressure to increasing your physical stamina and tissue repair. Firebird Touch Therapy offers a unique blend of modalities such as Structural Integration (Heller Work/Rolfing), Neuromuscular massage, and Craniosacral Therapy (CST) to create an experience that works the core of the body issue while deeply relaxing the body and encouraging lasting neurological connections and tissue repair.
How often should I receive Bodywork?
The more work, the better. By receiving regular bodywork the body will actually repair the torn tissue and the myelin sheath surrounding the nerve endings. By breaking up the fascia adhesion, your muscles are freed to allow them to receive more blood flow and nerve pulse, which leads to greater results in your recovery. One or twice a week, for 6 to 12 weeks will produce maximum results. Once or twice a month, if relaxation and stabilization are your goals.
Does it matter what I wear?
Your personal comfort level is most important. You can remain clothed or be completely naked.
What will I feel like after a session?
Each person experiences things differently and each session will leave you feeling a little different than the time before. If it’s your first exposure to fascia release you might be a bit sore afterwards. You’ll feel like you had a great session at the gym. That usually subsides within 24 hours. It is followed by a great sense of release. Most people feel better, more relaxed and a feeling of freedom within the muscles.
Do you take insurance?
We will provide receipts for your reimbursement. We are willing to explore all options that work for our clients.
10 sessions will transform your relationship with yourself. Structural Integration (S.I.) works the deep myofascial structures (secondarymuscle groups and insertions of tendons, ligaments and muscle fibers). S.I. uses a range of soft tissue techniques to release articulator motion restrictions. S.I. work is slow and very deep. Because the therapist is moving slowing the depth of the work is not experienced as painful. A little discomforted is expected when working to remove such blockages as calcium deposits, lactic acids, fascia adhesion and or scar tissue.
As structural blocks are removed and blood, oxygen and never pulse can once again flow freely though the body, the client can being to experience their body as a whole functioning unit. Not as separate quadrants of pain. When we move freer we feel better. Structural Integration belongs to the same family as Rolfing, Hellerwork and Myofascia release.
If you are coping with chronic pain or lack of flexibility or mobility this is the best choice for changing your relationship with your physical body by removing scar tissue build up, fascia adhesion and what I like to call “body smog” the film that we collect though out our life experience either from over work, over exercise or simply over doing it.
Structural Integration therapy are 90 minutes long and are the most effective when received in close proximity like ten sessions in six to 12 weeks. Keeping the sessions close together allows the body to integrate a new pattern throughout the muscle and nerve systems as wells as keeps the fascia from re adhering to the muscles.

Guided Meditation – Stepping into Silence
The word “hypnosis” (from the Greek hypnos, “sleep”) is an abbreviation of James Braid’s (1841) term “neuro-hypnotism” meaning “sleep of the nervous system.” Stepping into the silence is just that. It’s giving your nervous system a break. Allowing your creative right brain and the reticular activating system (C5) to extrapolate your life and find a more creative solution to whatever challenges you are facing. These sessions activate the limbic cortex of the brain (the pleasure center), allowing the body to release dopamine.
In this over all state of olfactory relaxation, your brain can take a break and you can dream in solutions to problems that have been plaguing you for years. We call it the clearing. The unwinding. Stepping into the silence is a union of hypnotherapy techniques and creative visualization wrapped in a blanket of energy work that combines: cranial sacral, polarity and hands-on healing.
Use Stepping into the Silence to actualize change in your life. Actually stop the brainwave patterns that are keeping you in the addictive neurological pattern to stress, food, substance abuse and loneliness. Plant positive seeds in your mind and watch them flourish throughout your life. Gain better results in your profession or sport by using this technique.
Here is a short personal meditation exercise
* Step deep inside yourself. Hear the sound of your inner voice. Not the one judging you. The other one. The one that resonates from deep within your belly.
* Listen again. Only this time stop and listen not to what thoughts are swimming around in your head, listen to your blood running in your veins.
* Listen to your heart beating inside your head. Hear spirit taping on your skull, amplifying your uniqueness of spirit.
* Realize you are a divine expression of God. Whole, beautiful, and complete. Lacking in nothing.
